MC Technical Recruitment are recruiting for an Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Engineer to join an Energy from Waste plant in the Staffordshire area. The E,C&I engineer will form a crucial part of the maintenance team and will be responsible for planning, documenting, and performing maintenance work on all Electrical and C&I assets across the power station to ensure maximum plant availability and minimal downtime.

Roles and Responsibilities

As the EC&I Engineer, responsibilities will include:

Fault finding, repair work and planned and unplanned maintenance on all E,C&I assets to maximise plant availability. This includes motors, drives, switchgear, transformers as well as C&I plant such as pressure, level, temperature and flow sensors and the sites control systems (DCS and PLCs etc)
Working alongside other Engineers and Technicians to ensure an accurate daily schedule is produced and worked to
Work with the site engineering team on plant improvement projects and upgrades
Assisting during site outages / shutdowns when required
Maintaining accurate records using the site CMMS
Managing site contractors as required

Experience and Qualifications

A time served apprenticeship in a relevant engineering subject such as electrical engineering or similar
A relevant engineering qualification at HNC level in or similar
Proven hands-on maintenance experience with 3 phase motors, generators, switchgear, transmitters, sensors and LV plant in a heavy engineering environment e.g. power plant, refinery, paper mill, steel works, chemical or manufacturing etc etc.
Experience using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems)
Knowledge of relevant legislation e.g., health and safety and environmental etc.
Ability to work as part of a small team and encourage collaborative working relationships
Open to working on a 3 weekly rolling shift pattern that includes weekends (1 in 3)
