Exciting Opportunity: Full-Time Teaching Assistant Position at a School with Challenging Behaviour in Walsall

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at [School Name], located in the vibrant town of Walsall. Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with challenging behaviour, both in the classroom and during break times.
Assist the class teacher in implementing behaviour management strategies and interventions to promote positive behaviour and prevent disruptions.
Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and self-esteem through structured activities and therapeutic interventions.
Establish positive relationships with students, building trust and rapport to encourage engagement and participation in learning activities.
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement individualized support plans tailored to the needs of each student.
Monitor and record student behaviour and progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) as required.
Key Requirements and Skills:

Previous experience working with students with challenging behaviour, preferably within a school or educational setting.
Resilience, patience, and empathy in supporting students facing behavioural challenges, with the ability to remain calm and composed in difficult situations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
Basic knowledge of English spelling, grammar, and punctuation to assist students with literacy activities and written assignments.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, following instructions from the class teacher and SENCO while also using initiative and problem-solving skills.
Flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive approach to supporting student learning and well-being in a challenging and dynamic school environment.
