Managing Quantity Surveyor – West Midlands

We currently have an opportunity for a Managing Quantity Surveyor for a Design & Build contractor. As Managing Quantity Surveyor the role will involve overseeing all commercial responsibilities for projects valued at £5-30 Million.

Managing Quantity Surveyor role and responsibilities

Our client is looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor with experience of major construction projects . The company is one of the largest contractors in the region with a regional turnover in excess of £100 Million. The business has been established for several years and enjoys an excellent reputation with both their clients and employees alike. The Managing Quantity Surveyor opportunity is for their construction division who undertake a broad range of projects, predominantly Design & Build with project values between £5 Million and £30 Million.

The Managing Quantity Surveyor position will report to the Commercial Manager and managing a team of Quantity Surveyors.

Working on all commercial aspects of the projects including:

* Use of company systems and processes and applying best practice

* Subcontractor procurement from enquiry to order placement

* Manage subcontractor accounts from commencement or works through to negotiation and settlement of final account

* Prepare timely submission to client for payments

* Produce monthly Cost Value Reconciliation reports

* Liaise with and develop supplier and subcontractor relationships

* Manage risk throughout the project lifecycle

* Liaise with and develop client relationships

* Work closely with the Project Manager and operations teams

* Prepare all final accounts

Required experience

Successful applicants will have a proven track record of undertaking the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor who undertake projects of a similar size and nature. In addition successful applicants should hold an HNC or degree level qualification in a construction discipline.
