Sourcing Manager + £65,000 + Permanent role + Industrial/ Manufacturing Sector

This role is part of the category sourcing Team

Responsibilities of the Sourcing Manager

* Responsible for leading sourcing activities for one or more categories.

* Leads sourcing activities and works collaboratively with category managers and sourcing specialists within the global category sourcing organization.

* Supports the development of category specific strategy in collaboration with key stakeholders.

* Supports the development of supplier strategy for the categories responsible for. Evaluates current supplier landscape, assesses supplier capacity, capability and competitiveness to develop and implement sustainable supplier strategy consistent with business needs.

* Develops category specific cost models and cost driver visibility. Leads cost reduction initiatives for the categories responsible for globally. Conducts regular benchmarking of the categories to ensure cost competitiveness.

* Participates and supports new product development initiatives. Evaluates new suppliers and supplier capabilities to support go-to-market strategy.

* Manages supplier performance; engages cross-functional business partners to drive supplier performance improvement initiatives.

* Ensures full compliance to governance and best practices as it relates to sourcing, supplier selection, cost evaluation, cost change approvals and supplier selection processes.

* Positively influences key stakeholders to get alignment on strategy and execution plans.

* Conducts supplier, commodity and procurement market risks on an on-going basis to develop risks mitigation plans.

* Understand plant operations and provides critical supply solutions as needed.

* Develops and implements annual cost reduction initiatives.

* Drives supplier consolidation to reduce supply chain complexity.

Qualifications & Experiences

* University degree in Business/Engineering or equivalent.

* ISM/ASCM professional certification and or a community college degree/diploma in supply chain management will be considered an asset.

* Minimum 5 years of procurement and category experiences in industrial/manufacturing sectors.

* Prior sourcing and category management experience in a global sourcing setting.

* Hands on experience with high impact commodities such as steel, aluminum, copper preferred

* Hands on experience in sourcing electric-mechanical products, ideally electric motors preferred.

* Have prior experiences in collaborating with cross-functional teams in multi-site operational settings.

* Solid experience of working in an international cross-cultural global supply chain environment.

* Hands-on experiences in developing and implementing best practices specific to cost management, supplier management and risk mitigation.

* Outstanding data analytics capabilities

* Proven people management experiences.

* Successful track record of leading sourcing and supply chain projects in a cross-functional business settings.

* Hands-on experience with ERP systems in an industrial manufacturing environment with sound knowledge of system based spend categorization, system generated procurement specific reports.
