Position: Pipefitter
Location: St Helens – But travel to sites across the North West
Pay: £17-34 per hour
Hours: Full-time, minimum 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, with potential overtime and weekend availability

About the Role:

As a Pipefitter, you will play a crucial role in manufacturing, installing, assembling, and maintaining piping systems to meet project specifications, codes, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

* Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand piping system requirements.

* Plan pipe layouts, assembly, and installation considering dimensions, materials, and routing.

* Select and prepare materials like steel, copper, or plastic for installation through cutting, threading, or bending.

* Join pipes and fittings using welding, soldering, brazing, or mechanical connections.

* Test piping systems for leaks and pressure, making necessary adjustments and repairs.

* Work with other tradespeople to complete projects on time and according to specifications.

* Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.

* Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked for reporting and billing purposes.

Qualifications:

* Vocational or technical training in pipefitting or a related field preferred.

* Proven experience as a pipefitter in an engineering construction environment.

* Strong understanding of piping systems, materials, and installation techniques, including blueprint reading.

* Skilled in using pipefitting tools such as cutters, wrenches, and threading machines.

* Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

* Ability to weld to a coded standard in carbon and stainless steel.

* Training or certification in relevant areas, such as pipefitting & welding

Work Environment:

You'll primarily work in industrial settings like construction sites, manufacturing plants or refineries. Expect physical tasks involving standing, bending, and lifting heavy materials for extended periods. Travel to different job sites may be required based on project locations.
