We are retained by Aevex to find a Chief Stress Engineer. Aevex stands as a leader in aerospace conversion work, headquartered in the vibrant hub of Murrieta, CA. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE CHIEF STRESS ENGINEER
* Manages design and stress analyst staff.
* Provides engineering direction, from conceptual design development through completion of project detailed design & analysis.
* Review engineering designs, drawings & reports and ensure they are FAA (or other cognizant airworthiness authority) and/or commercial requirements compliant.
* Interfaces with the Director of Certification to support Supplemental Type Certificates and/or other regulatory or commercial programs.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES OF THE CHIEF STRESS ENGINEER
* Bachelor of Science, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
* Minimum of 10 years of aircraft structural substantiation experience including Finite Element Analysis (NASTRAN FEMAP), traditional hand calculations & report writing.
* Familiarity with aircraft engineering resources such as MMPDS, Bruhn, Roark, etc.
* Familiarity with both airframe modifications and new airframe design with knowledge of 14 CFR Part 23 & 25 designs, construction & structures regulations.
* Must be a US Citizen
