Responsibilities
• New product development for MVHR ventilation systems used in housing, apartments, and hotels • Contribute to design reviews acting with knowledge of design for manufacturability, design for testability, yield improvements, supplier capabilities assessments, quality control, and market research • Prepare engineering documentation necessary for the transition from design to manufacture including engineering drawings, assembly instructions, test procedures, standard operating procedures, wiring diagrams, BOMs and mechanical drawings • Lead continuous improvement efforts of established products • Update designs in response to manufacturing issues, parts obsolescence, and system requirement changes • Point of contact for production team for non-conforming products, troubleshooting, root cause, failure investigations and corrective actions • Remain updated with advancements in manufacturing techniques, software, materials, equipment, standards and regulations
Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (2:1) or similar • Approximately 5 years working in engineering industry • Experience designing complete systems across all stages of a design project from initial concept and modelling through to prototype, production, and launch • Experience using SolidWorks or other similar 3D modelling package e.g. Inventor • Broad range of experience working with different materials e.g. plastic injection moulding, vacuum forming, EPS, EPP, sheet metal
Preferred Skills & Experience
• Experience in production of mechanical or electrical hardware systems • Experience transitioning products from design to manufacturing as part of a cross-functional team • Experience in project planning • Ability to create and deliver presentations for design and manufacturing readiness reviews • Knowledge of HVAC systems and refrigeration an advantage • Full clean driving licence
