This is an exciting time to be joining us as our newly formed Commercial Director, working as a member of the Hospice Executive Leadership Team. The Commercial Director will lead our Retail and Income Generation proposition to drive the strategic growth and financial sustainability of our charity for the benefit of our service users now and into the future.

The client cares for end-of-life patients and their families in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas and has been doing so for over 40 years. The Hospice is run by local people for local people. We are proud to deliver calm, compassionate care in a tranquil environment, helping people to really make the most of the time they have left with their loved ones.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a natural innovator and strategic thinker, the postholder will look for new opportunities and markets to exploit, both driving up income and promoting the charity brand paying particular attention to widening our supporter base and engaging a more diverse audience.

The postholder will be accountable for the development, implementation, and review of a comprehensive Income Generation Strategy that encompasses both innovative retail and fundraising approaches that will maximize income streams by fostering strong relationships with supporters, donors, and corporate partners.

With the rise of ageing population numbers in the region, public support, and awareness of palliative healthcare, combined with the charity’s strong growth ambitions and financial goals, this role offers a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate.

Knowledge, skills, and experience required.

• To have significant experience in Strategic Leadership, Management and Development of Teams (Educated to Degree level, or evidence of relevant experience and evidence of continuous personal and professional development)

• To be able to operate strategically and translate strategies into actionable plans, evaluate initiatives and programmes and initiate, develop and deliver new ones that build on success for the organisation

• To have an understanding, knowledge, or experience of key areas (Marketing, Retail, Fundraising, Financial Sustainability, Compliance and Governance) that will support the charity
