Main duties and responsibilities of the General Manager
. Develop and implement strategies to profitably grow the UK business.
. Oversee and implement daily business operations.
. Oversee and work with senior staff to manage all strategic aspects of the business.
. Work with leadership and HR in the US to establish, implement, review, and monitor company policies, procedures, and legal obligations.
. Set and maintain a culture of continuous improvement in the delivery of customer support and quality of work carried out in the UK.
. Build up and maintain exceptional industry and equipment knowledge.
. Directly support and manage the sales team through customer visits, deal reviews, strategy implementation, and training.
. Work with the factory to continuously improve the quality of parts and machinery.
. Build an understanding of all functions of the business to be able to assist as needed.
. Full P&L responsibility for the business.
Experience/knowledge requirements for General Manager
. Previous experience managing a business or business unit for a UK construction equipment dealer.
. Previous experience setting, following, and presenting the annual forecast.
. Experience managing the financials of a business.
. Leading from the front and having experience overseeing operations, sales and driving profitability
