The role of Business Development Manager is pivotal, bridging an extensive Work Winning team lead by the Pre-Construction Director and the regional Senior Management team, led by the Regional Director. The nature of this role will require you to work flexibly, attending meetings and events across the region.

The Role

As Business Development Manager in the East Midlands, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities. Your primary focus will be on fostering strategic partnerships, cultivating client relationships and driving revenue growth. You will collaborate closely with our operations and marketing teams to develop and execute effective business development strategies, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.

What you will be doing

Market analysis: carry out market research to identify trends, opportunities. Analyse competitor activities and market dynamics to inform decision making.

Business development strategy: work alongside the Regional Director to develop and implement business development strategies, aligned with regional business plans.

Lead generation: proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through various channels including cold calling, networking events, industry conferences and digital marketing.

Reporting and Analysis; you will be expected to maintain Salesforce CRM, preparing comprehensive reports and performance metrics to track progress, measure success and identify areas for improvement, providing regular updates the board and the regional management teams.

Customer relationships: You will join the team with maintaining excellent relationships with valued existing customers, as well as opening the door to new relationships which you will track and manage.

Industry relationships: You will maintain and manage existing relationships with our consultants and influencers, as well as creating new, meaningful relationships within the industry. Take an interest in marketing opportunities to promote the brand, helping to assemble the information required to drive campaigns and looking out for opportunities to make the brand more visible.

What we need from you

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager, based in the East Midlands with a good understanding of market opportunities and procurement routes.

You will have an established network within the construction industry and public sector client types.

*

Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the construction industry, including anunderstanding of market trends, procurement routes, market competition and client needs.

*

A strategic think who is able to develop actionable plans to drive business growth and expansion.

*

Have a proven track record of generating new business through effective prospecting, networking and negotiation skills.

*

You will be able to identify target customers; develop, implement, and maintain account plans.

*

Excellent communicator, both across verbal and written communication which you can deploy at the highest level to internal and external stakeholders whilst also being able to understand the broader picture alongside key details you learn having the ability to relay information as appropriate.

Have the ability to confidently present and represent the company at events and meetings, from larger groups to one-to-one meetings.

*

Ability to work under own initiative.

*

Ability to work under varying workloads and periods of pressure.

*

Self motivated, dedicated and proactive.
