Role Overview:

As the Head of Department - Science Teacher, you will be responsible for leading and managing the science department, delivering high-quality science education, and inspiring students to develop their scientific skills and understanding. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the curriculum, overseeing extra-curricular activities, and promoting a culture of scientific excellence within the school. This role requires a dynamic and innovative educator with strong leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the science department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective science lessons to students at KS3, KS4, and KS5.
Develop and implement schemes of work and lesson plans that align with curriculum objectives and the latest educational standards.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and curiosity.
Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
Provide constructive feedback to support students' scientific and academic growth.
Organize and oversee science-related events, competitions, and extra-curricular activities.Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in a scientific discipline.
Proven experience teaching science at secondary level, with a track record of achieving excellent student outcomes.
Strong knowledge of the science curriculum and current educational practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
