Job Title: Electrician (Water Infrastructure & Asset Maintenance)

Location: West Midlands (Site-based travel across the West Midlands)

Permanent Role – Salary Bracket (£30,000 - £35,000 PA + Package)

Our client, a leading construction contractor in the Water Infrastructure market, is seeking a skilled Electrician to join their team on a permanent basis. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems for water assets, civils, and mechanical equipment. Our client focuses primarily on maintaining water assets in the Midlands region, and your duties will include regular inspections, troubleshooting, diagnosing malfunctions, and performing repairs and upgrades to minimise downtime.

Daily Duties:

Perform regular inspections of electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify potential issues and opportunities for improvement.
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical malfunctions, identifying root causes and executing reactive and planned maintenance.
Repair electrical systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Respond promptly to emergency calls and resolve electrical issues to minimise downtime while prioritising safety.
Collaborate closely with the maintenance team and engineers from other disciplines to coordinate maintenance activities and resolve complex issues.
Effectively communicate with stakeholders, including colleagues, supervisors, clients, and contractors, regarding maintenance activities, progress, and any potential issues.
Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to relevant health and safety regulations, industry standards, and legal requirements.
Follow scheduled maintenance plans to perform routine checks, servicing, and replacements to prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of electrical equipment.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, replacements, and tests, to track the performance and condition of electrical systems over time.
Participate in the development and implementation of emergency response plans to effectively handle electrical emergencies and minimise risks to personnel and property.
Perform any other duties assigned, in line with the scope and seniority of the role.
Stay updated on the latest developments in electrical engineering, technologies, and maintenance techniques through training and professional development activities.
Conduct tests, measurements, and calibrations on electrical systems and equipment to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency enhancements in electrical maintenance practises.
Please note: Travel across the West Midlands, mostly within the week. Occasional weekend work may be required, with overtime available.
Candidates should ideally:

Hold a relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering.
Have a 2391 Test and Inspection qualification.
Be 18th Edition qualified.
Be Confined Space Trained.
Have experience working with water control assets on rivers and waterways.
Have experience with 3 phase systems and equipment.
