We are seeking a motivated and meticulous Senior Payroll Assistant to work closely with an experienced, supportive, and extremely friendly finance team. This position offers the flexibility of either full time or part time hours (30 hours) and although reporting into the Financial Director, the successful candidate will work closely with the HR department. As the Senior Payroll Assistant, you will be responsible for –

Managing the end-to-end payroll processing for in excess of 1500 employees on a weekly, bi weekly and monthly basis
Generate detailed payroll reports that align with business requirements and statutory obligations
Manage statutory payments, produce P11D’s and will process a pensions payroll and will be comfortable with auto-enrolment
Maintain up to date understanding of payroll legislation and will be the main point of contact for HMRC and other similar external bodies
Processing of SSP,SMP and any other payments or deductions
Monitor the payroll inbox system, will deal with any employee queries and will submit the annual gender pay report
Work with HR on any ad hoc duties or projects and may support with starters and leavers 

About you –

To be considered for this role, you should have:

Previous experience within an end-to-end payroll position and will have a practical understanding of weekly payroll processing
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy and will be able to maintain confidentiality at all times
The ability to work in a standalone position and will enjoy thinking outside of the box around new processes and efficiencies
Experience of Sage 50 or a similar payroll system and will pick up new software quickly
