Salary: £54,793 - £60, 326 (Commensurate with skills and experience)

What you'll be doing:

Cutting edge research into new and novel technologies
Identifying and bringing new tools and techniques into the team, e.g. MBSE
Developing Human Machine Interfaces
Carrying out assessments in high fidelity facilities, whilst interacting with the end users including pilots, maintainers, trainers or support specialists
Co-ordinating and organising technical activities and available resources (people & facilities)
Coaching and mentoring less experienced team membersYour skills and experiences:

Essential:

Degree or equivalent in human factors or related subject (e.g., psychology or user centred design)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Confidence in presenting information to a wide variety of stakeholders
Experience in technical task management (e.g., task breakdown, scheduling, resourcing, reporting)
Coaching and developing othersDesirable:

Chartership with a Human Factors, or related, professional body, e.g. CIEHF
Experience in conducting experiments and user assessments
Military Air domain knowledge and/or experience
Working knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering
Working knowledge of Human Factors defence related standardsBenefits:

The Human Factors Centre of Expertise:

Two exciting and rewarding opportunities for Human Factors practitioners have arisen within the Human Factors Centre of Expertise at Warton, Lancashire.

These are, a "once in a lifetime" type role. Working in a friendly, varied, diverse and dynamic team you will be involved in complex, innovative and world leading projects such as Typhoon, Tempest, and the Future Combat Air System - Acquisition Programme (FCAS - AP). Joining this team will mean you are working on products that will be maintaining customers Air Defence capabilities for the next 40+ years.
