Job Description
AECOM has an opening for a Risk Assessor/Toxicologist for a REMOTE role within the United States, however the role will have a focus on California sites, with the primary group being based out of Oakland or Sacramento.   The role will assist with a variety of projects including data management, and human health and/or ecological risk assessments to assist with site investigations and remediation. The successful candidate will assist with gathering and analyzing geological, hydrogeological and geochemical data to support a wide range of projects for private and government clients throughout the US (and internationally). 
The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:
Maintaining knowledge of federal and state regulations/guidance documents for conducting risk assessments.
Performing Human health and/or ecological risk assessments in accordance with regulatory guidance and project-specific work plans.  
Supporting execution of projects involving soil gas, soil, and groundwater investigation, compliance, and remediation activities in accordance with regulatory guidance, including: the DTSC Vapor Intrusion Guidance, CERCLA, Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, RQWCB or other regulatory programs.
Work under the supervision of a principal risk assessor, but able to work independently and collaboratively with a minimal level of guidance needed for unfamiliar tasks.
Ability to work independently with diverse staff in office setting.
Assist in mentoring and working with junior staff members with certain aspects of the job and coordinate field and reporting tasks.
Must be able to conform to AECOM travel policies, including ability to obtain and hold the AECOM corporate credit card for use in making travel-related purchases.
Must demonstrate professional demeanor in written and verbal communications with clients, regulatory officials, and fellow employees.
Candidate must also be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors. Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative. Field work will be required including oversight of subcontractors.
