Ford & Stanley Talentwise are seeking an experienced Testing Technician to complete the Testing and Commissioning of the new Wales & Borders Fleet out of Crewe depot. Completing various fault free running activities and ensuring that all Train systems are running correctly for successful handover of the new vehicles.

The Opportunity
This is the opportunity to work on a brand-new fleet of trains as they are prepared for service. You will be responsible for testing the new trains and resolving any functional issues that may arise to ensure that every single system on the train is in full working order before handing over to the customer.

Location (s): Crewe Depot

Role and Responsibilities:

Carry out dynamic testing on new trains before their release into service.
Complete complex tasks such as troubleshooting, testing, quality control, tuning and repairs
Complete test reports, internal adjustments, and pending job information accurately.
Verify the electrical & mechanical systems installation, and integrity.
Perform maintenance and fault rectification tasks on the train borne test equipment as necessary in accordance with procedures.
Report test data to relevant stakeholders.
Liaise with relevant systems experts in Engineering to progress commissioning and type testing issues.
The Candidate

The ideal candidate must have experience with Rolling Stock Test & Commissioning. Flexibility is an absolute must; this position will entail travel (fully expensed) and will have a varying shift pattern to meet the project needs. You will be a team player, who can quickly develop strong working relationships with colleagues, but also self-motivated and able to take ownership and responsibility of your own work. This is a highly pressured environment that would suit someone who is able to stay positive and calm in difficult and stressful situations.

Essentials

Relevant experience in rolling stock test & commissioning
Knowledge & experience in TCMS, OTMR data downloading, Pneumatics and Rolling Stock Brake Systems, Computer Networks, Automatons and Distributed Input / Output systems
Experience using measuring instruments such as multimeters, recorders, etc.
Able to write detailed test reports
Flexible, and able to adapt to changing circumstances, and provide solutions in a climate of continuous improvement
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Shift Pattern/ Hours

Varied shift pattern dependent on project demands, flexibility to work a mixture of days, nights and weekends. (Shift premium, night premium and overtime rates paid).

Other information: A pre-employment Drugs & Alcohol test and Medical must be passed prior to start.
