We are currently representing a leading façade specialist contractor based in Essex, renowned for delivering innovative and high-quality façade solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Design to join our dynamic team and lead our design department.

Job Summary: As the Head of Design you will be responsible for overseeing the design process for all façade projects, from conception to completion. You will lead a team of talented designers, ensuring that all projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality, on time, and within budget. Your role will involve close collaboration with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver innovative and sustainable façade solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and manage the design team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high performance and professional growth.

* Oversee the entire design process for façade projects, including conceptual design, detailed design, and construction documentation.

* Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and develop tailored façade solutions.

* Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

* Conduct regular design reviews to ensure accuracy, quality, and feasibility of designs.

* Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure successful project delivery.

* Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to drive innovation within the design team.

* Prepare and present design proposals, reports, and technical documentation to clients and stakeholders.

* Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the design team.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

* Professional registration (e.g., RIBA, ARB, CEng) is highly desirable.

* Minimum of 10 years of experience in façade design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

* Proven track record of successfully delivering complex façade projects from concept to completion.

* Strong knowledge of façade systems, materials, and construction techniques.

* Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

* Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant tools.

* Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
