We're looking for a Legal Secretary to join our Rural Property department at our offices in Central Woking. Situated close to the train station, our offices are conveniently located within walking distance of the main shops and restaurants.

Our Rural Property team at Moore Barlow specialise in legal matters related to agricultural and rural land. This includes advising on the sale and purchase of farms, estates, and country houses with land, as well as dealing with issues such as land use, tenancy agreements, and agricultural subsidies. They also handle matters related to land development, conservation, and rural planning permissions. Their expertise ensures that clients are able to navigate the complex regulatory landscape affecting rural property ownership and management.

Day to day:

Our team of experienced solicitors are dedicated to providing exceptional service to our high-net-worth clients. The team at Moore Barlow takes pride in approaching rural property transactions with understanding, striving to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Our Legal Secretaries are essential members of our team, responsible for managing their own tasks while also providing support to colleagues on more intricate issues. Your daily responsibilities will encompass a blend of secretarial and administrative duties, including but not limited to:

* Administering client files, including opening, closing, storage, and retrieval.

* Request and gather Source of Funds and Source of Wealth information, including liaising with the internal Risk and Best Practice Team as necessary.

* Accurately record information in the firm’s practice management systems.

* Support financial tasks such as invoicing, fee updates, and write-offs.

* Draft letters, documents, and forms (including Land Registry and SDLT), including letters of engagement and preparation of correspondence for dispatch.

* Assisting the team with booking and coordinating their BD activities and professional memberships throughout the year.

* Liaising with fee earners and assisting them in provide an excellent and efficient service to clients.

About you:

Additionally, confidence in typing ability and document production (particularly Land Registry forms) would be highly beneficial for this role.

While previous experience within a rural property team would be advantageous, we're equally interested in hearing from those with relevant work or academic background who demonstrate a genuine interest in this field or property more broadly.
