The Company
Able Bridge Recruitment are currently working with a leading engineering business based in the heart of the Kingdom of Fife in the recruitment of an accounts assistant.

The role has come about due to a member of the team being promoted into a role outside of the accounting team. They are due to transition in the near future so out client is keen to move at pace with the position.

Reporting to the head of finance you will form part of a medium-sized finance function. Over the past 10 years the organisation`s financial turnover has more than tripled. The business are highly acquisitive and have recently bought a business with a complimentary service provision.

The Responsibilities
The purpose of this role is to work with the business in ensuring that the purchase and sales ledger are maintained accurately and efficiently as well as managing the credit control of your allocated clients. You will be working closely with colleagues within the business and you will be supporting them in ensuring that invoices that they have posted are accurate and any incorrect postings are fixed.

On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following;
Maintain Purchase ledger by receiving invoices, posting invoices, allocating to cost centre/project.
Review of invoices posted by colleagues and working with them to provide information about account/accounting processes.
Reconciliation of bank accounts/purchase ledger.
Work closely with goods in teams to ensure procured products meet internal quality standards.
Raise sales ledger invoices, post them onto the in-house ERP system and ensure the invoices are distributed within agreed timescales.
Reconciliation of sales ledger/allocation of received money.
Pro-actively contact your customers to ensure prompt payments are made within terms of business.

The Requirements
We are seeking a highly experienced accounts assistant who has worked within a similar role in the UK. Applicants will be required to work full time on a permanent basis with no working restrictions. The ERP that our client uses is an inhouse system where reporting is completed in Excel. As such we are requiring applicants who have a good level of Excel skills.
