Are you a recent Graduate or in the process of completing your degree and wishing to embark upon a secondary teacher training programme in the future?  Could you benefit from gaining invaluable experience within a classroom setting?

If so, Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a Chelmsford secondary school to offer a “Future Teachers programme” to graduates interested in a paid internship, for a fantastic insight into the world of teaching. You will be working as a cover teacher or Teaching Assistant but gaining valuable experience. The school will be able to support you onto their teaching programme and provide additional training. 

If you're looking to gain experience for a teacher training application, or you would like flexible work working with young people in a range of educational settings, we can help! We're particularly interested in hearing from you if you have a background and/or degree in English, Maths, Science, Sport, Humanities or Languages.

The role of the Cover Supervisor is to provide daily support in schools working with young people. Often, you will be providing relief for permanent members of staff. Using work set by the absent class teacher, you would supervise the class and support groups students to guide them through set learning objectives.  You will need the confidence and presence to manage and control whole classroom and small group behaviour. You will also need to possess a positive can-do attitude, flexibility to adapt and work in a variety of different schools/environments and the ability to build positive relationships with young people and adults alike.

As the incoming graduate you can expect to receive valuable hands-on experience and support from staff to help you build on your experience, marking and delivering lessons within your subject specialism, providing one-to-one and small group based intervention, and finally you will have the opportunity to progress on to a schools direct placement upon successful completion.

In return, Teaching Personnel are able to offer a competitive daily wage of between GBP80-GBP95 (depending on your qualifications and experience), support and advice from an experienced team of specialist education recruitment consultants and regular opportunities for training and personal development. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
