Support Worker - Male

Dutton Nursing & Medical are working in partnership with one of our lovely clients to recruit for a Male Support Worker (genuine occupational requirement) to support one of their clients who has learning disabilities, Autism, complex needs and behaviours that challenge. The service you will be working in is a medium sized residential home which specializes in supporting client who have learning disabilities and additional needs. The service is great, very busy and fast paced and positive outcomes for the people that they support is at the heart of everything they do. The role is a temporary to permanent role which means that you will start working there as a temporary worker through Dutton recruitment but then once you have slotted into the team the role will go permanent should it be a good match.

The role is 35 hours per week on a 4 week rolling Rota and will consist of earlies and late shifts which are 8-3pm and 3-10pm, they also run a long day shift which is 12 hours.

Job Description Overview

· Provide assistance to residents to help them meet both their health and social care needs. This includes washing, toileting, medication, bed making and preparing meals and drinks.

· Enable residents to achieve independence as far as possible in all areas of their life.

· Help residents to identify and choose their support needs.

· Understand the rights of the individual to have their wishes respected.

· Understand how to treat individuals with dignity and respect.

· Understand equal opportunities and supports the equality and diversity of the individual.

Essential Criteria

· 12 month's recent experience working as a Support Worker in the UK.

· You must have the right to work within the UK with no restrictions.

· You need to be 100% committed to helping improve the quality of life of vulnerable people.

· You must have a kind and caring nature and their is a genuine occupation requirement that you must be male due to the nature of the needs of the person you are supporting
