Senior Occupational Therapist

As a Senior Occupational Therapist at East Sussex County Council you will become an integral part of a welcoming and collaborative team. We are in search of an individual with excellent communication skills, capable of establishing and nurturing relationships with colleagues, service users, and healthcare providers. The client offers a full-time contract with an opportunity to work from home, a fair and manageable caseload and further training in your portfolio. The vacancy will be for an initial 3 - 6 months with potential for extension.

Main Duties for the Senior Occupational Therapist includes.

You will need to be an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Adult Social Care Hospital Discharge and Community Team. in managing a therapy team with a focus on supporting safe and effective discharge planning for service users following a period of hospital admission.
You will need a sound working knowledge and experience of the application of the Care Act, including Mental Capacity Assessment, Safeguarding and Care and Support Planning as well as experience of using a strengths-based approach, undertaking complex functional assessments, and overseeing the work of others.
As part of this role, you will be responsible of budgets, risk reduction plans, prescription and authorisation of daily living equipment including minor and major adaptations and clinical supervision of staff.
You will work within the legal framework provided by the statute, guidance, policies, and procedures.
Within your duties of Senior Occupational Therapist you will be required for provided supervision to the Occupational Therapists and Social Care Coordinators within the team.
Excellent knowledge, skills and experience with assessing for and making recommendations for major adaptations and complex equipment. Including preparing sketches, reading plans and providing detailed specifications for major works.

Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist in the community.
Previous experience working with major adaptations.
Complex manual handling experience
HCPC Registration
Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
Eligibility to work in the UK
