Senior Engineer - Civil Engineering - Tier 1

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer for a Tier 1 civil engineering contractor who have a long-term framework to deliver wastewater infrastructure on projects across South Wales. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and mentoring site engineering and for ensuring engineering works are carried in accordance with the design, programme and budget to ensure successful project delivery. Responsibilities:

1. Technical Expertise: Provide expert technical guidance and oversight throughout all project stages, including the development of engineering designs, construction methodologies, and innovative solutions to address project challenges and complexities.

2. Quality Control: Implement robust quality control processes to monitor and evaluate the quality of workmanship, materials, and construction activities, ensuring adherence to project standards, specifications, and industry best practices.

3. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and uncertainties, develop proactive strategies to minimize potential impacts on project performance, schedule, and budget, and ensure timely and effective risk mitigation measures are implemented.

4. Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance: Champion a strong culture of health, safety, and environmental stewardship on all project sites, ensuring full compliance with HSE regulations, company policies, and industry standards to maintain a safe and sustainable working environment.

5. Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies, building strong relationships and effectively managing communication to ensure alignment with project objectives, expectations, and deliverables.

6. Team Leadership: Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment that promotes innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement, and ensures the development and growth of team members.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.

* Minimum of five years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on wastewater infrastructure & drainage projects, within a contracting environment.

* Proven track record of successful project leadership and management, including experience in the design, construction, and commissioning of wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, and related infrastructure.

* Strong technical knowledge and expertise in wastewater treatment methodologies, with the ability to develop and review engineering designs, drawings, and specifications
