Job Description: Materials Buyer
Location: Wednesbury
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 (depending on experience)
Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Materials Buyer to join their team in Wednesbury. This role is pivotal as they are in the initial stages of setting up and optimising their Sage200 system with Sicon MRP attached. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience with MRP systems, particularly in interpreting outputs and setting up Part Master details.

As Materials Buyer your key responsibilities will include:

MRP Expertise:
Interpret outputs from MRP systems to inform purchasing decisions.
Set up and maintain Part Master details, including order policies.
Supplier and Stock Management:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
Manage stock levels to ensure timely availability of materials.
Production Planning:
Plan and procure materials in alignment with production schedules.
Collaborate with the production team to ensure materials are available when needed.
System Implementation:
Assist in the setup and full implementation of Sage200 with Sicon MRP.
Optimise system use to enhance procurement processes.

To be successful as Materials Buyer you will possess the following skills and experience:

Extensive experience with MRP systems, particularly Sage200 with Sicon MRP.
Working knowledge from within automotive manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of Part Master setup and maintenance.
Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and stock levels.
Excellent planning and organisational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and negotiation skills.

This position is based in Wednesbury and is easily commutable from Dudley, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Birmingham, West Bromwich, Stourbridge and Brownhills.
