An exciting opportunity awaits for a Accounts Administrator to work at Higson & Co Chartered Accountants, a well- established accountancy firm, based in the centre of Nottingham. Offering a salary of up to £25,000 with a company pension scheme and 31 days holiday (including Bank Holidays) plus holiday to cover the Firms shutdown between Christmas and New Year.

The normal hours of work would be Monday to Thursday 9.00am- 5.30pm, Friday 9.00am to 4.30pm with one hour for lunch. Reporting to and supported by a Partner of the firm, you will be responsible for:

• Providing secretarial support to ensure efficient office operations.

• Manage the front desk, greeting clients and handling incoming calls.

• Maintain both electronic and paper filing systems.

• Handle the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring a smooth transition.

• Manage billing and invoicing procedures accurately and efficiently.

• Work alongside the office manager to conduct credit control activities to ensure timely payments from clients.

• Assist with various administrative tasks as required, including but not limited to franking mail, scanning in and distributing mail, photocopying, filing and printing.

Skills required:

• Previous experience in a business/administrative role is essential.

• Strong organisational and time-management skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and adapt.

• Able to work effectively with minimal supervision.

• Positive attitude and a friendly, approachable manner.

• Accountancy practice experience (desirable)

• Previous experience with Sage 50 (desirable)
