Engineering Graduate

The starting position is as a proposals engineer and offers future oppportunities to develop into a Design or Project Engineer for the right candidate. We are seeking a confident, resilient, friendly and optimistic person as an important member of our key-account team. The candidate will need to have good attention to detail, ideally advanced excel skills and the ability to manage and input processes. A knowledge of CAD or Solidworks is advatageous. Candidates must live within a commutable distance of Peterborough.
The Role
Our typical process involves technical sales engineering and layout conceptualisation, alongside quote generation. The proposals role works closely with the concept draughting person as well as our technical sales team. The proposals role has a core element of:-
•Monitoring account activity while connected to the sales team.
•Logging enquiries and their activity status.
•Receive the proposals brief from technical sales or direct from customer.
•Using our excel based quote template, generate the quote specific to the enquiry needs using :-
–Suitable and/or technical sales nominated selections from the internally controlled price-book.
–Initiative to work with our established supplier network to meet bespoke needs.
–[Nice to have] Use own experience and engineering skills to be innovative in developing the final solution.
•To author the final quotation and present to the technical sales lead.
•Clearly and effectively communicate throughout the process.
•Maintain the accuracy of the costs within the price-book spreadsheet / quote template.
•At times, customer facing
This is a full-time, office based (Peterborough) role, working 08:30-17:00
