CK Group are recruiting for a Chemist to join a chemical company at their site based in Stevenston, on a permanent basis.

The Company:

Our client is a chemical manufacturer that specializes in the manufacture of explosives for commercial and defense industries.

Salary:
Circa £27,000 - £36,000 per annum DOE.

Location:

This role is located in Stevenston, based on the coast just South of Glasgow.

Chemist role:

To carry out analysis of raw materials, Intermediates and final products to company and customer requirements ensuring that a legible, auditable trail is maintained throughout process.
To provide sound technical advice on the properties and characteristics of non-energetic and energetic substances, mixtures, and formulations (including HSE requirements).
Analytical methods and techniques.
Interpretation analysis results and trends.
Develop and validate energetic materials and formulations to meet specific programme safety, and performance requirements.
Develop and validate non-energetic materials used in energetic formulations and processes to meet specific programme safety, performance requirements.
Provide validated data on energetic materials and formulations to enable safe and effective introduction of new products (including products transferred from third parties) into manufacturing operations.
Develop, plan and carry out specific non- energetic and energetic material development programme.
Your Background:

• Degree in Chemical related discipline.
• MoD/NATO and other relevant technical standards relating to energetic materials and articles.
• Manufacture, storage, use and disposal of hazardous substances.
• Laboratory and performance testing of materials and energetics.
• Understanding of COSHH legislation.
