Jackson Hogg are partnered with a specialist manufacturing business in the Newcastle upon Tyne area on a HSE Advisor position, reporting into the HSE Manager.

The successful HSE Advisor will have experience in manufacturing environments and hold recognised HSE related qualifications including a NEBOSH General Certificate/Diploma or equivelant.

HSE Advisor Responsibilities

* Support operational departments in ensuring COSHH compliance including the maintenance of the company COSHH register.

* To support the company in ensuring compliance with all relevant legislative and other requirements inclusive of the ISO certified QHSE Management Systems.

* Assist with and/or complete regular formal safety inspections and internal audits as required across all depots and field-based operations.

* Coordinate occupational hygiene monitoring, including noise and air quality assessments as required.

* Support operational departments in the ongoing monitoring of employee exposure to vibration and noise, providing guidance on exposure limits and implementation of proportionate control measures.

* Support members of the management team and process owners in the investigation of accidents, near misses and incidents to establish root cause, identify corrective actions and potential improvement opportunities.

* Lead health and safety committees and cross functional working groups.

* Prepare and communicate toolbox talks, safety alerts, and internal news items to a variety of internal stakeholders as and when required.

* To provide expert, professional health and safety advice, guidance, and support to all interested parties.

* Work in collaboration with operational departments to ensure all activities have been adequately risk assessed, with safe systems of work being agreed, communicated, and understood.

HSE Advisor Requirements

* Full UK Driving Licence.

* Previous experience of working in a manufacturing or construction environment.

* A formal recognised health and safety qualification, such as the NEBOSH National General Certificate as a minimum.

* Membership of a professional body such as IOSH or IEMA.

* Strong communicator and the ability to positively influence others
