Role Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join our passionate and driven team based in Edinburgh/Glasgow

The role of Project Manager will be responsible for project services to a major government organisation. The role will oversee all aspects of service delivery in technical engineering delivery, supply chain and project work as well as managing a team of engineers. The role will have accountability for Health & Safety performance and high focus on ensuring that all works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. Customer relationship management is a key part of the role, to support current and emerging requirements within client organisations and be part of a team which delivers an excellent customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for service delivery including risk throughout Scotland.
Strong effective communicator, a team player however capable of delivering solutions and strategies which require individual leadership
Develop the management and engineering workforce through relevant training & development programmes.
Ensuring that all employees have the appropriate skills, knowledge, experience training and qualifications to fulfil their role
Ensuring that all direct and indirect reports are aware of their responsibilities with regard to the Health & Safety, Environmental, Sustainability and Quality policies
Development of accurate budget information for nominated clients including planned lifecycle and the provision of emergency capital spend to ensure that client year end budget targets are achieved.
Ensuring effective management controls and relevant business processes are adhered to.
Review MI and team performance in order to deliver continuous improvement, engineering productivity and consistency.
Ensuring adequate resources to deliver the services in scope including direct labour and the supply chain to deliver the required volume of work to meet budget and contractual SLA’s.
Oversight of the client’s lifecycle asset management program planning work in a way which ensures that key milestones and completion dates are achieved
Ensure appropriate Safe Systems of Work are applied and appropriate authorisations are in place, including 3rd party suppliers.
Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with the agreed OCS processes including the production of job / project specific Construction Phase Plans, Risk Assessments and Method statements to ensure that works are planned and delivered to the highest levels of safety standards at all times. 
Ensuring that all health, safety and environmental incidents and complaints are reported and investigated and that action points arising from site safety surveys, audits, accident reports and other recommendations are successfully closed off 

About You:

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK
Strong Electrical background working in a fast-paced hard services environment.
Demonstrate an understanding of the legislative requirements that impact on the client’s property.
Relevant H&S qualifications for the position (IOSH, NEBOSH, SMSTS)
HNC Construction / Project Management or PRINCE 2 Qualification ­– preferred
Experience in commercial management and reporting on WIP 
Good communication skills including presentation and written report writing.
Good PC skills, including advanced Excel,
Ability to complete full Disclosure and Government baseline clearance (mandatory requirement to work on contract)
Full driving licence.
Willingness to work as part of a team and individually
Client focused and professional with the requisite skills to establish and maintain relationships
A self-motivated person who is target driven and possesses the ability to work on their own initiative
Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a pressurised environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Financial and commercial awareness
