The Shift Lead functions as a lead person for the front of house operations. They are tasked with helping their store run smoothly and efficiently by assigning shift tasks as well as assisting the Cafe or Shop Manager with customer-facing issues. The Shift Lead Person contributes to French Truck Coffee's success by helping with in-store operations and fostering a positive culture for employees and guests while focusing on professional development for our staff and themselves.
Essential Job Functions
Clearly communicate business needs to other employees and filter down communication from the store management team
Perform basic cash handling, deposits, and tip pool distributions
Ensure your store is stocked, cleaned and prepped, and supplying managers with daily store needs
Delegate daily, weekly and monthly deep cleaning tasks for all team members
Ensure customer orders are processed and completed properly and in a timely manner
Demonstrates high level of competency in all front and back of house positions
Run your assigned shift with regard to labor allocation, store needs, and required breaks for the staff
Properly handle any guest issues or complaints as outlined in the steps of service.
Oversees location cleanliness, organization and proper food handling and food safety guidelines are being followed
Assist with training new hires in all positions following the checklist and systems
Help to organize and facilitate monthly staff meetings
Work with your Cafe or Shop Manager on best practices in all aspects of your store
Provide feedback towards expectations and goals
Provide support as needed
Perform other duties or special projects as directed by the Café or Shop Manager

Education/Experience Requirements
High school diploma or GED preferred
General operations management experience in the food service, food product manufacturing and/or hospitality industry preferred
Skills/Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and leadership skills
Meet all customer service expectations and standards in interactions with customers, vendors, and fellow team members
Must possess a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement with a hands-on, cooperative approach in a team environment
Strong organizational skills and accountability in completing all tasks in a thorough, accurate and timely manner
Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively while using strong emotional intelligence
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
Able to lift up to 50 pounds
Able to stand for prolonged periods of time frequently
Mix of standard office, manufacturing, and retail store environments
