Nursing Health Assistant
Location: Saudi Arabia
Due to expansion, our client is looking for Nursing Health Assistants to join a group of hospitals in Saudi Arabia.
The Nursing Health Assistant (NHA) role is integral to collaboration and patient and family-centered care and outcomes.
* Promotes patient health under the guidance of unit staff nurses and in-charge nurses.
* Assists nursing staff in the smooth operation of the unit. Specific responsibilities and duties may vary according to the unit assigned.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure through his/her actions, either directly or indirectly, that a superior quality of nursing care, compassion and understanding is given to every patient served.
* Assist nurses in providing patient care, independently or supervised as delegated, and within competency and licensure.
* Utilize knowledge of cultural diversity and empathy in the provision of patient and family centered care and maintain patient confidentiality.
* Participate in and support patient experience initiatives across the continuum of care.
* Help in optimizing resources to improve safety and quality of patient care.
* Take and record patient vital signs, height and weight, under the supervision of the patient’s primary nurse and within competency and licensure. Report any abnormalities to the primary nurse or in-charge nurse.
* Assist in the repositioning of patients as required, for the prevention of pressure injuries and comfort of the patient.
* Assist patients with hygiene and ambulation needs, as guided by the patient’s primary nurse
* Assist patients with eating/drinking as per physician order and instructed by the patient’s primary nurse or in-charge nurse.
* Conduct Purposeful Rounding and respond to patient call bells to determine the patient’s needs and report requests or issues to the patient’s primary nurse or in-charge nurse. Refer to Purposeful Rounding policy.
* Act as a chaperone as necessary.
* Escort patients with wheelchair to and from other departments if the patient is identified as not being “at risk” as per Patient Transport policy.
* Take an active part in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the unit.
* Assist with the change of bed linen maintain the cleanliness of patient rooms.
* Keep linen room orderly and maintain linen inventory, reporting any deficits to the Nurse Manager or in-charge nurse.
* Clean, store and prepare items in unit storerooms. Maintain optimal level of supplies and ensure items have not expired. Report any supplies issues to the Nurse Manager or in-charge nurse. Keep storerooms orderly and restock unit areas.
* Clean and appropriately store specialized equipment and procedure trays as required.
* Inform the in-charge nurse of any equipment malfunction or concerns.
* Perform other related duties as required, including patient/nursing related errands as requested, direct visitors, answer telephones and various clerical duties such as photocopying.
* Adhere to MODHS, organization and Nursing Department policies, procedures, regulatory standards, guidelines, standard operating procedures and instructions.
* Embrace continuing professional development.
* Maintain effective professional communication.
Requirements:
* Health Assistant Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
* One (1) year recent work experience as a Nursing Health Assistant or equivalent
role/job title, or clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
* Motivated and demonstrates accountability of self and others in the team.
* Able to work cooperatively and strategically in a multicultural team environment
with all levels of healthcare professionals, technical and administrative staff
