The Role: Deputy Manager - 16 to 18
We have an opportunity for a dedicated person-centred Deputy Manager to join our team at Andmu Care Services
Amdmu is a semi independent accommodation that provides placements for young people aged between 16-18
We support young people on their transformational journey to becoming responsible adults by promoting a nurturing and positive environment where they feel safe and secure
Shift Pattern:
Monday to Thursday 09.00 am to 17.30pm Friday 09.ammo to 16.30pm, you may also need to support outside of these hours when required, we want our young people to have excellent support, you will therefore receive exceptional benefits
Salary up to £65,000 per annum as well as a pension scheme
About this role:
Please note the following responsibilities
* Assist the registered manager in day to day operations to ensure regulatory compliance and work directly with young people and other staff members
* Work closely with the registered manager to establish and manage the two homes providing high quality holistic service to meet the needs of all young people in line with our statement of purpose
* Ensure that service responsibilities and requirements are carried out effectively including welfare checks, risk assessments, support sessions, safeguarding checks, training and development and other necessary responsibilities for effective service delivery
* Support the service manager in ensuring that the service and team meet and exceed key performance indicators and work in line with supported accommodation regulations
* Collaborate with the service manager to facilitate a program of continuous improvement in an environment that provides care, support and access for young people to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes
* Your responsibilities with include supervising staff, developing and updating support plans and risk assessments and maintaining a positive and inclusive atmosphere for young people to thrive
* Risk management, information management and Case
* Follow the relevant risk assessment and management procedures share any relevant information with children's teams and other partner agencies as appropriate
* Ensure all case recordings and information is accurately recorded in a timely manner, ensuring electronic records are protected in line with GDPR and kept up to date and written to a high standard
* Alongside the service manager champion and act as point of reference for safeguarding concerns within the services
* Ensure all staff attend relevant safeguarding and training and use knowledge to coach and advise the team
Property and House management:
* Create and manage a welcoming psychologically informed home environment for young people, ensuring a continuous focus on safety, health and well-being
* ensure the accommodation in which young people live is maintained to a high standard and that young people are supported to develop independent living skills to enable them to successfully maintain tenancies when they leave the placement
* Ensure all repairs and maintenance issues are correctly reported and managed through to completion
Other Duties:
Administration duties will vary, including operating inline systems and ensuring that correct processes are followed in accordance with GDPR and confidentiality guidelines
Other duties may also include but are not limited to, maintaining clean and tidy environments, removing rubbish, ordering supplies, organizing in-house events and activities and other general on-site duties
Other responsibilities that those described above maybe required and to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capacity and level of the position
We are looking for:
* Minimum level 5 Health and Social Care qualification, DIPSW or equivalent
* Experience of working with looked after children for at least 3 years including unaccompanied asylum seeking young adults
* Working knowledge of relevant legislation such as the 1989 children's act, children and home regulations 2015, care standards 2000, working together 2023, and supported accommodation regulations
* Experience in leading, motivating, and maging people
* Ability to effectively train individuals and groups
* Experience having working in a trauma-informed manner
* Experience of having worked in a care setting
* Knowledge of childcare, child development and the impact of trauma
* Strong knowledge of OFSTED legislation
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Flexibility to work a shift patten
* Able to deputise for the registered manager
Preferred but not essential:
* Ability to drive
