We are recruiting for a Finance Team Leader for a for a global engineering group in Poole Dorset.

Hours of Work:   37 hours per week. 8.00am to 4.30pm Mon to Thurs and 8.00am to 1.00pm Friday

Location:  Poole, Dorset, Office based. 

Job Summary

Working within the Finance Department, the Finance Team Leader will be responsible for the Transactional Finance Team and will lead the Company's transaction and control activities to ensure that they are carried out efficiently, effectively and in line with best practice.  The Finance Team Leader will ensure that purchases and payables ledgers are accurately maintained and be responsible for reviewing VAT returns and balance sheet reconciliations. 

Responsibilities

Manage the Finance transactional team.
Manage relationship with transactional service centre and ensure accuracy is maintained.
Review supplier data changes and payment proposals, ensuring accurate and timely payments are made.
Maintain Supplier GRNI balances and review and authorise supplier statement reconciliations.
Responsible for Accounts Receivable processes and adherence to internal controls.
Review the quarterly VAT returns and ensure ongoing compliance.
Responsible for maintaining an accurate fixed asset register.
Oversee the administration of Concur expenses system including processing of Company credit card and personal expense claims, to ensure compliance with Travel and Expense policy.
Review and challenge a full suite of balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis with ensure sufficient explanation for Finance Director review.

Requirements

Relevant experience from a previous role.

Excellent attention to detail with a high accuracy level.
Excellent interpersonal (written and oral) and people management skills.

Ability to work pro-actively, using own initiative, exercise independence and challenge constructively. Applies judgement in difficult situations.
Extensive use and competent user of advanced Excel.
Experience of working with data, ensuring a high level of accuracy is maintained.
Desirable (not essential)

Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA
Previous experience communicating with overseas operations and dealing with multiple currencies.
Experience of working within a results driven environment with skills in managing both core processes and bringing a creative and innovative approach.
Experience of operating within a global manufacturing/technology business and a balance of working both strategically and operationally.
Experience of working within a Lean manufacturing environment and utilising tools and techniques.
Project management skills and ability to manage financial/specialist change projects.
Good understanding of risk and ability to identify potential risk and ensure management are well informed to assist decision making affecting the department or Company.
