Job description
RMS Recruitment are looking for a Structural Inspector to join their clients team based in Middlesbrough.
The successful candidate will be joining the dayshift supervisory team working on long term prestigious marine projects. Full training will be provided to support the role and to deliver the project to the high standard required. The applicant must have a plating background with experience of dumpy levels and other basic dimensional tools.
Shifts would be 7am – 3pm Monday to Friday & overtime as required. The salary for this role is £22.02 per hour (basic day shift), £33.03 OT1, £44.04 OT2.
This is a temporary to permanent position.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Dimensional Coordinator and working closely with the Dimensional Control Team. Ensuring to support the Construction Management in driving project schedules to ensure delivery on time and on budget (or better) while ensuring adherence to company HSE and quality systems.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Full understanding of project specific standards.
Carry out steel setup inspections as required by the customer ensuring fit-up tolerance standard.
Carries out structural checks to ensure dimensions conform to client drawings, both pre-weld and post weld.
Ensures correct items are fitted.
Scope to include weld setups, squareness of setups, checking that steel is set to set out points back marks, etc.
Checking for weld deformity which affects profile.
Assist dimensional control as required.
Experience with Total Station would be advantageous.
