Barista

The barista is responsible for creating and serving a variety of coffee beverages, providing excellent customer service, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the café, and ensuring a pleasant and efficient customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Craft a variety of coffee drinks, including espressos, cappuccinos, lattes, and teas, following established recipes and techniques.
• Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and answer any questions about menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
• Use espresso machines, grinders, frothers, and other café equipment safely and efficiently.
• Process customer transactions, handle cash and card payments, and provide correct change.
• Keep the work area, equipment, and utensils clean and organized; follow health and safety guidelines.
• Monitor inventory levels, replenish supplies, and inform management of any stock shortages.
• Ensure all beverages and food items meet the quality standards before serving to customers.
• Work cooperatively with other staff members to ensure smooth operation and customer satisfaction.
• Recommend additional items or menu modifications to customers to enhance their experience and increase sales.

Skills and Qualifications:

•  Previous experience in a café or restaurant setting is preferred but not always required; on-the-job training may be provided.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact positively with customers and handle complaints professionally.
• Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques; ability to operate and maintain coffee-making equipment.
• Precision in making beverages to standard recipes and customer specifications.
•  Ability to stand for extended periods, handle hot beverages, and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and contribute to a positive work atmosphere.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
