Job Title: Senior Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) Advisor

Location: Cambridge, United Kingdom

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £70,000 - £75,000 per annum (DOE)

Role Overview: As a Senior SHE Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, health, and environmental compliance of their construction projects across various sites. Reporting directly to the SHE Manager, you will provide expert guidance, lead SHE initiatives, and champion best practices to maintain the highest standards of safety and environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities:

* Travel regularly to construction sites across the region to provide on-the-ground SHE support, guidance, and oversight to project teams, site managers, and subcontractors.

* Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of SHE management systems, policies, and procedures tailored to the specific risks and requirements of construction activities.

* Conduct thorough risk assessments, site inspections, and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement appropriate control measures to mitigate potential SHE incidents.

* Provide comprehensive SHE training, toolbox talks, and inductions to site personnel, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with regulations.

* Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans to prevent recurrence and drive continuous improvement in SHE performance across construction sites.

* Liaise with regulatory authorities, clients, and external stakeholders on SHE-related matters, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, permit conditions, and client specifications.

* Monitor and analyse SHE performance metrics, trends, and leading indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement proactive measures to enhance safety and environmental outcomes.

* Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement sustainable construction practices, waste management strategies, and environmental protection measures.

Experience / Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Construction Management, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, CMIOSH) would be advantageous.

* Proven experience in a senior SHE role within the construction industry, with a strong track record of managing SHE programs on construction sites.

* Willingness to travel extensively to construction sites across the region and work in varied environments.

* In-depth knowledge of construction-related SHE regulations, standards, and best practices

* Experience working collaboratively with subcontractors, clients, and regulatory authorities to achieve SHE objectives and ensure compliance with contractual requirements
