As a Desktop Support Engineer you will be primarily based on our client's site in Broadoak, Portsmouth with the requirement to travel to Cowes, Filton, and another Portsmouth site when required.

This is a permanent full-time position working 37.5-hours per week, Monday - Friday between the hours of 07:00 - 19:00.

Due to the nature of our client's work the successful candidate will need to either hold or be able to obtain SC Security Clearance.

As a Desktop Support Engineer you will:
Primarily carry out Security Audits of all devices holding data in a lab environment (training will be given on this requirement by the client)
Diagnosis, analyse, and fix software and system faults
Take responsibility for stock used
Case manage incidents and IMACs
Liaise with other teams or vendors to resolution
Assist with projects as they arise
Proactively keep customers updated
Manage loan 'pool' laptopsWhat we're looking for:
Already holds or is able to obtain UK GOV Security Clearance at SC level 
Full, clean UK driving license
Proven trouble shooting skills
Previous experience in a similar role with ITIL environment
PC/desktop support knowledge including Microsoft Windows NT/98/XP onwards
Experience with mobile connectivity (e.g. Android/iphone)
Knowledge of SCCM
Good knowledge of HP Workstation, Desktops & Laptops
Willingness to learn new skills
Ability to deal productively with a high workload
Broad range of knowledge across IT systemsDesirable skills / qualifications:
Microsoft Certification (MCSE/MCSA/MCP’s)
Accredited in relevant manufacturers hardware qualification (HP)
Basic network knowledge (patching, tracing switch information etc)
