About the Job
Responsible for the day-to-day running of our swim school, swimming lessons, and swim school programming, as well as acting as a Duty Manager for a min 2 shifts a week. Our swim managers work collaboratively with other departments across the business to ensure an innovative programme of activities, that support and give back to the local community, are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities include:
Day-to-day management of swimming teachers
Carrying out the deputy manager role when on duty management shifts.
Achieve centre financial targets and KPIs, by maximizing Swim School occupancy
Assisting with school swimming booking processes
Track, measure and report on the effectiveness of aquatic programmes
Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends effecting wet side, making appropriate recommendations for strategic and tactical development.
Deal with any H&S incidents, accidents, safeguarding concerns & report on the management system.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have a passion for swimming and the ability to influence and motivate staff. You will have experience working in wet operations ideally and be now looking to move into a senior or management position. Excellent communication skills and experience of leading a team in your career is also essential. Employment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check & reference checks.
Qualifications Required
Ideally hold, or be looking to attain a:
* Level 2 Swimming Teacher Qualification
* National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
* First Aid at Work Certificate
* Pool Plant Operation Qualification
* Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and external partners.
* Outstanding organisational and time management abilities, with the capability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
* Effective negotiation experience
* Willingness to challenge the status-quo seeing continuous improvement
* Past exposure to continuous organisational change and development
Strong understanding of creating an inclusive working environment
