Artis Procurement has an excellent opportunity for a Junior Materials Buyer to join a manufacturing business based in Bristol. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager and working with the wider team, with a specific focus on building strong relationships with their supplier base to ensure better quality and cost are delivered.
Junior Materials Buyer responsibilities…
* Build and maintain positive, long-term relationships with suppliers.
* Research new suppliers and make recommendations to the Purchasing Manager.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their purchasing needs and requirements.
* Obtain quotes for materials in line with Customer RFQ/RFI.
* Evaluate quotes and negotiate prices and delivery, focusing on achieving the best price and quality.
* Progressing of orders to ensure specified dates are met and the correct items and quantities are received.
* Updating and maintaining internal databases and ERP system with records of orders, deliveries, invoices, contracts & supplier approvals.
* Communicating supply chain delays and risks with key stakeholders.
* Monitor Inventory - including stock take planning and participation.
Junior Materials Buyer experience…
* Ideally you will have previous experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role. Or come from a material planning or supply chain background, looking to move into buying.
* Ability to analyse data and make informed purchasing decisions.
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Excellent Microsoft Office and Excel skills.
* Task, achievement-focused.
* Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
