Press Brake Operator

Position Overview: We are currently seeking a talented Press Brake Operator to work with mild steel in the production of excavator buckets. The Press Brake Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to bend and shape metal components according to precise specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating press brake machinery and a strong understanding of metal fabrication processes.

Responsibilities:

* Set up and operate press brake machines to bend and shape mild steel components for excavator buckets.

* Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine the appropriate bending sequences and dimensions.

* Select and install the appropriate tooling, dies, and fixtures on the press brake machine.

* Adjust machine settings such as speed, pressure, and back gauge position to ensure accurate and precise bending operations.

* Monitor the production process to ensure quality standards are met and make necessary adjustments as required.

* Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.

* Work collaboratively with other team members to meet production targets and deadlines.

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Press Brake Operator or similar role in a metal fabrication environment.

* Proficiency in setting up and operating press brake machinery to bend mild steel.

* Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.

* Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.

* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

* Physical stamina and the ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials as required.

Rate of pay £14.16 per hour

Hours per week : 40 hous

Shifts - Days, Monday to Friday

Overtime : Enhanced rates
