Linaro is hiring a Senior Engineer into our Developer Services team to develop, maintain and deploy quality and performance testing systems for a wide range of Arm based computer hardware (IoT, embedded, and server). The ideal candidate is eager to participate in public open source projects with developers around the world. They possess strong skills in Ruby, Python and shell scripting, and are familiar with git and modern CI/CD best practices. They are a self starter, able to work with minimal direction and supervision, and possess keen problem solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain, improve, and scale Developer Services automation and testing systems
* Improve, and maintain Linaro’s automation and testing frameworks
* Improve and maintain reporting and visualization interfaces for automation and test systems
* Improve and maintain functional and performance test suites
* Contribute as-needed to open source projects
Personal Skills
Required Skills and Experience
* Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
* Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
* Ability to be productive in a remote position as part of a globally distributed team
* Advanced git skills
* Strong background in Ruby
* Excellent knowledge of shell programming (sh, bash, zsh, etc.)
* Experience using cloud technologies to build highly scalable and resilient services
Desired Skills and Experience
* Strong background in Python
* Experience building websites using modern JavaScript frameworks
* Experience with the Linux kernel development process
* Experience with CI/CD systems, automation, and best practices
* Comfortable with working on open source projects, and having code reviewed in public
* University engineering or computer science degree or equivalent experience.
Travel
International travel is required from time to time to attend Linaro Connect, industry conferences, team sprints and possibly customer sites.
