Job description
Edscha manufactures body components, powered systems, and driver controls for automakers and motor vehicle manufacturers in North America and internationally. Its body components include hinge systems, door hinges, door hinges with integrated door checks, lid and flap hinges, door checks, and sliding door systems; powered systems include rear lids and lift gates; and driver controls include handbrakes, foot-operated parking brakes, and foot controls. The company was founded in 1870 and is based in Remscheid, Germany. It has locations in Remscheid, Germany; San Luis Potosi, Mexico; and Auburn Hills, MI.
Serve as a member of product engineering team. Support a cross-functional team to address challenging technological needs of customer engineering and manufacturing requirement. Responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with assigned customer base, as well as generate new customer leads. Support new business development as required.
Requirements
Education & Experience Needed:
BS in Mechanical Engineering preferred, or two years community college with 10 years of experience in automotive field
Three to five years technical experience and excellent communication skills to interface with various levels of the customer team.
Experience with OEM product development cycle and strong technical background in BIW and mechanisms
Experience in product design/development and selling of engineered solutions is expected
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Hands on exposure and knowledge of the areas of manufacturing, design and engineering and product launch processes.
Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem solving skills.
Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and profitability
Computer literacy and basic skill with MS Office software, i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook.
Familiar with current quality management system and documentation, i.e., ISO/TS16949
CATIA, OEM and Tier 1 Experience preferred
