OVERVIEW
Palm Venture Studios (PVS) is an active, nationwide network of venture studios that specialize in giving promising but "stuck" companies a second life via rescue capital and other resources that enable companies to pivot and succeed. The venture studio network will provide portfolio companies with shared methodology, extensive networks and resources in functional business areas such as strategy, capital, FP&A, go-to-market strategy, accounting, HR, and recruiting. PVS is backed by an active, family investment offices with a strong track record of acquiring underperforming businesses and pivoting them to a more disruptive business plan that drives results, as well as launching startups from scratch; the family office has acquired or started 65 companies since 1992, 18 of which have been sold for 21x return on capital invested.
We are looking for a Venture Fellow (Marketing) that brings experience with content marketing, social media and/or public relations and advertising. This work will help further PVS' position as thought leaders and continue building our visibility throughout the founder and venture ecosystems.
THE ROLE
As Venture Fellow (Marketing), you'll be the primary strategic partner to the Co-Founder, Partner and SVP Marketing Strategy and take a hands-on role in executing PVS' brand positioning and content marketing strategy. Your primary focus will be owning the content calendar and publishing short and long-form content (LinkedIn posts, blogs, etc). In addition, you'll do topic-related research, engage with early stage founders and investors, and ultimately generate investment leads. You are a strategic thinker, but able to operate in the weeds, at startup speed, on a daily basis.
INITIAL SCOPE
As our Venture Fellow (Marketing), you will be accountable for these workflows:
Actively support the Co-Founder, Partner and SVP Marketing Strategy in core marketing functions and strategic initiatives
Research, develop (strategy, brief, copywriting) and distribute engaging content for across a variety of digital platforms
Measure and report on content engagement to iterate on our strategy
Collaborate with PVS team to establish content calendar, ensuring a consistent brand presence to establish PVS' thought leadership in rescue capital and turnaround "stuck" early stage companies
Help develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy
Research the latest trends and market data
Provide hands on support to select portfolio companies to perform market research and marketing support as needed
Requirements
You are a perfect fit for this position if you have:
A strong desire to build companies that make the world a better place
3+ years of experience in marketing or advertising with a focus and passion for content creation, copywriting and social media strategy
Experience deploying multi-channel campaigns, including email, newsletters / essays, social media, video, earned media, podcasts, etc.
Experience scoping projects with limited resources
Strong research and communication skills and high attention to detail
An entrepreneurial, "extreme ownership" mindset and an appetite to take on a high level of responsibility, commensurate with anticipated rewards
Excellent professional references and a demonstrable record of integrity
