Job Description
AECOM is seeking a GIS Specialist III to be based in Cleveland, Ohio to support our Water practice. You'll also have the opportunity for GIS tasks related to water resources, environmental, and other related areas.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Ability to work independently and with other GIS staff across multiple offices to support a wide range of projects.
Work closely with project teams and clients to understand project needs and deliver GIS solutions of moderate to significant scope and complexity.
Analyzes technical problems and devises innovative approaches and alternative solutions.
Processes and analyzes raster and vector geospatial data in support of clients and staff including engineers, and field technicians.
Reviews data for currency, accuracy, quality, or completeness of documentation and metadata
Ensures that information management quality assurance procedures comply with AECOM standards and procedures.
Creates, collects, converts, analyses, and integrates geospatial and non-spatial datasets in accordance with industry standards.
Creates, edits, and maintains geospatial databases and metadata on multiple simultaneous projects.
Familiarity with PYTHON coding
Produces a variety of mapping products for presentations, reports, and other documents.
Develop web maps (AGOL, ArcGIS Portal) and Esri field solutions (ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123) for project staff to collect and review project data.
Leverage Microsoft Excel for data manipulation, visualization, and reporting to clean and preprocess data before importing it into GIS databases or reporting.
Support fieldwork by developing data collection solutions for projects and going into the office as needed to prepare GPS equipment.
Perform data conversion from multiple formats (CAD, PDF, TIFF, Excel) into GIS data.
Develop maps and map products (map books, visual aids, slides) utilizing GIS data and follow template map designs.
Geodatabase entry and data manipulation, including setup of field schema, domains, relationship classes, and topology rules.
Specialists input diverse data types into GIS databases. This includes longitude and latitude coordinates, aerial imagery, tabular data, and digitizing paper maps or images manually. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel aids in managing and preparing this data.
Using ESRI tools, perform data analysis from various sources, including public data sources, such as Digital Elevation Models, LiDAR, Contours
Support data acquisition in the field using ESRI platform for field data collection (Collector, Survey123, Field Maps, etc.)
Perform GIS data collection with field application on mobile devices paired to GPS if needed
