What You Will Do:
This is a 75% remote position for Electrical Engineering. Support electrical, power, and instrumentation & control systems design projects. Provides engineering, technical, and managerial direction for problem definition, analysis, requirement development and implementation for complex systems in the engineering discipline required to meet technical requirements. Makes recommendations and advises on system development, improvements, optimization, or support efforts. Performs risk assessments and analysis employing modeling and simulation techniques. Responsible for assigned activities within an engineering discipline in support of facility design, operation and maintenance.
Applies broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in the preparation of complex engineering analyses.
Performs all aspects of work in engineering operations within discipline.
Performs conventional structural design and analysis.
Provides system integration within and across disciplines.
Provides construction and project support.
May provide direction to technicians.
Able to work independently and as part of a team, utilizes engineering technology to accomplish work.
Continuously improves work processes to meet customer needs.
The Electrical Design Engineer will conduct drawing searches in engineering records, and will perform field investigation and walkdown work as required.
Will also provide support to design projects in construction phase to ensure deconfliction of issues along with development of design documents.
If required, be responsible for development and configuration management products and discovery of existing conditions.
Ensure requirements are traceable and transparent throughout the project lifecycle, including design, construction, procurement, startup and turnover to operations.
Duties will include preparation of calculations, drawings, data sheets, specifications, reports, reviews, studies and estimates (both material and engineering man-hour) working as an integral part of a project team. Typical drawings may include one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, lighting/power plans, installation details, feeder/circuit sizing, and conduit/cable schedules.
This position is 75% remote and 25% travel.
What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
10+ years experience
Ability to travel 25% of the time
A thorough understanding of and demonstrated previous application of the National Electrical Code (NEC), the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and other similar national consensus standards is desired.
