Data Analyst - Sales & Cost

Job Summary:
Work collaboratively with the VP of Sales and Product Development and the Leadership Team to assist with the preparation and analysis of sales and cost related data.
Requirements
Evaluate historical and current financial data to understand the company’s inventory costing and pricing data.
Interact and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, i.e., sales team, suppliers, etc.
Coordinate with logistics team to obtain unique freight/trucking rates, etc.
Determine and establish standard costs, maintain supplier quote sheets, create customer specific cost sheets.
Assist in developing market cost and pricing sheets for use by sales team, etc.
Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses.
Follow industry-specific business trends.
Develop various financial models.
Maintain Excel databases by entering, verifying, and backing up data.
Analyze past and current financial performance data.
Prepare reports and projections based on analyses.
Improve financial metrics by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending improvements to management.
Increase productivity by developing automated Excel applications and coordinating information requirements.
Protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.
What is Needed:
Strong analytical skills; accuracy and attention to detail.
Must have advanced ability in Excel; experience with MAPICS and/or Infor, or other integrated accounting systems, a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business management, accounting, or finance a plus.
Minimum 2-3 years of financial analysis and sales and product pricing skills preferred.
Prior experience with sales and pricing analytics and reporting preferred.
