We are currently on the lookout for an exceptionally skilled Senior Structural Engineer/Structural Inspector to enrich our team.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Masters preferred)
PE License Required (SE Preferred)
10+ years experience in Structural Engineering Design, with a focus on building structures (threshold building design preferred)
1-2 years of experience in Building Restoration and/or Forensic Engineering
Proficiency in Phase 1 and Phase 2 Milestone Inspections
Skills/Qualifications:
Thorough grasp of building fundamentals and design codes and standards like FBC, ASCE, AISC, and ACI
Familiarity with structural software such as RISA, RAM, ETABS, ADAPT, SAFE, and/or REVIT
Expertise in drafting Master format Specifications
Strong technical prowess coupled with effective verbal and written communication skills
Experience in both project and staff management
Exceptional planning and organizational abilities suited for a dynamic work environment
Highly motivated, proactive, and ready to embrace new challenges
Capable of effectively leading and managing staff
Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day business operations
Efficiently lead and manage staff
Serve as the primary PE for the office
Act as the key resource for Structural Engineering and Building Restoration projects
Develop Master format specifications for bidding, permitting, and construction purposes for building restoration projects
Lead staff in Phase 1 and Phase 2 Inspections
Supervise the Construction Administration phase of projects, including reviewing shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and conducting field observations
Participate in internal and external meetings with clients and design team members
Conduct forensic investigations to analyze and determine the cause, origin, and extent of structural failures, water intrusions, roof damage, construction defects, and building system failures
Manage multiple projects and take responsibility for project execution within designated timeframes
Provide leadership and mentorship to other Engineers
Review the work of fellow Senior and Staff Engineers
