The Rotating Equipment Supervisor will be directly involved with operations/contract personnel to ensure that all reliability, preventive, and predictive maintenance practices are an integral part of the daily maintenance efforts at the La Porte facility.
Support plant Reliability efforts for improvements Provide Rotating inspection repair reports to Reliability Manager
Provide root cause analysis on equipment failures
Design rotating equipment for new installations
Generate management of change when applicable
Refrigeration responsibilities Develop bid packages for outside services for major repairs
Direct supervision for Refrigeration/HVAC technician
Planning for refrigeration outages
Direct mechanical PM program Plant record keeping
Complete work orders to achieve compliance to scheduled PM’s
Reliability based maintenance Rotating equipment
Responsible for requesting quotes for equipment and generating purchase requisitions
Direct supervision for millwrights
Laser alignment
Vibration surveillance
Lubrication practices
Mechanical seal failures
Best maintenance practices
Refrigeration/HVAC preferred but not mandatory
Participate and facilitate in root cause analyses
Millwright coaching/talent assessment
Accountable for ensuring the effective and timely delivery of quality maintenance support services within established cost parameters
Assigns jobs and determines priorities based on established schedules. Considerable judgment is required to adjust the schedule in response to critical equipment breakdowns
Accountable for prioritizing jobs, procuring material, and conducting preventive maintenance to ensure work continuity and balance
Schedules are coordinated with the plant to minimize down time and maximize production
Expected to be an innovator and on a regular basis to recommend improvements in equipment and production methods consistent with cost and quality objectives
Responsible for training, performance appraisal, discipline, and safety. He/she implements departmental safety initiatives to ensure the safety of the employees
Provide after-hours support when called upon
Hourly direct reports plus additional contractor support
Four year college degree preferred but will consider equivalent on the job and related training that combines technical training and/or related functional experience.
Management and craft school preferred but not required
Minimum 5 years of experience in a chemical plant environment.
Minimum 8 years of experience with rotating equipment, and preventative and predictive maintenance and good work practices
Demonstrate ability to effectively engage associates at all levels and lead change.
Demonstrate ability to coach and provide leadership feedback.
