Job Title: Resource Planner
Location: Hybrid - Can be based at either Towcester, Manchester, Glasgow or East Anglia
Salary: £22,308 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full time 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday
Role Summary
The role of the Resource Planner is to conduct operational planning activities within a given area of Resource Optimisation. The purpose of which, is to provide clients and/or resource pools with optimised plans to deliver the best service possible according to client requirements, whilst balancing this with maximising revenue and achievement of KPIs or compliance rates.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Working in conjunction with the Capacity Planning team to determine the appropriate levels of resources to be planned by client, and enacting the plans to ensure service delivery, KPI achievement and compliance rates are delivered in line with contractual obligations.
Identify and resolve gaps in clinical delivery headcount and competencies to ensure that coverage is provided, and continuity of service is preserved.
Maintenance of schedules in an agreed, standardised format, ensuring data is accurate at all times.
Ensuring shrinkages (e.g., absence, holidays, training, meetings) are approved and managed in line with forecasts and guidance and recorded appropriately on the relevant logs and plans.
Re-planning to accommodate changes to schedules, cancellations, absence of practitioners, priorities etc., whilst fully understanding and being able to articulate the impact of changes.
Work in conjunction with the Real Time Team to monitor schedule adherence and identify opportunities for improvement to maximise productivity and utilisation, KPIs and service credits, or to minimise the impact of unplanned changes.
Identifying issues within the plans and proposing solutions to resolve.
Working very closely and establishing strong relationships with Practitioners, Clinical Performance Managers, Customer Operations Managers, Client Services teams, and Clients (where relevant to the role).
Working with agency or associate practitioners to determine schedules and plan accordingly
Setting up the planned schedules within the booking system, ensuring they are accurately setup to reflect restrictions (e.g., specific clients, specific interventions) and in line with practitioner working patterns.
Identifying opportunities for improvement within planning processes.
Setup and editing of streaming groups in line with flexing demands, leavers and joiners and contracts onboarding.
Carry out other ad hoc tasks commensurate with level of responsibility as requested.
Experience, skills and knowledge required for the role
Previous experience of planning and scheduling is desirable
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Able to think logically and construct sound, persuasive arguments, enabling effective decision making
Able to demonstrate a clear attention to detail, always ensuring data accuracy and integrity
IT literacy: Able to confidently use MS Office Applications, such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
