Bond Scheme Officer

A superb opportunity has arisen for a Rent Bond Scheme Officer who is seeking a new opportunity working for a Local Authority in Greater Manchester.

The responsibility of the Rent Bond Scheme Officer is to develop and administer a rental Bond Scheme in accordance with the aim of preventing homelessness and to maximise private rented sector accommodation availability to meet housing needs.

Your main duties will include;

To develop and administer a rental Bond Scheme, including the development of appropriate policies and procedures.
To establish, develop and maintain close working relationships with private landlords operating or potential new landlords to encourage landlords to provide access to quality accommodation.
To increase the availability of shared accommodation within the borough by establishing relationships with landlords.
Identify potential sources of funding available or opportunities for cooperative working with partner agencies and landlords.
To interview and assess the needs of people applying for the scheme and make referrals to other agencies where appropriate.Required Skills;

Experience in delivering outcomes and experience of working to targets and successful delivery.
An understanding of housing and other policy through working in a local authority, central government, housing association or similar environment.
An understanding of the issues within the private rented sector.
